Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy

Reconnect. Repair. Build the relationship you long for.

Even the strongest relationships can hit painful walls—where you feel stuck in conflict, emotionally alone, or like you’re speaking two different languages. You may love each other, but you keep missing each other when it matters most.

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) helps you get beneath the surface of those stuck patterns and understand what's really happening between you—so you can rebuild trust, deepen your connection, and start feeling safe together again.

Do Any of These Sound Familiar?

  • We keep having the same fight over and over

  • One of us shuts down, the other gets louder

  • I feel like I’m always the one reaching

  • I don’t feel heard, understood, or prioritized

  • We’ve grown distant and don’t know how to reconnect

  • Conflict is intense or avoided completely

  • I love my partner but I feel alone in the relationship

  • We've been through something hard and haven’t healed from it

What is Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy?

Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT) is a well-researched, structured approach to couples therapy based on attachment theory—the science of how we bond, connect, and seek emotional safety in close relationships.

Instead of just learning communication tips or conflict skills, EFT helps you understand what’s underneath the patterns you’re stuck in: the deeper needs, fears, and longings that often go unspoken.

With support, couples begin to:

  • Recognize the negative cycle keeping them stuck

  • Understand each other’s emotions and needs in a new way

  • Share more vulnerably—and respond with more compassion

  • Create new patterns of connection, support, and trust

EFT has over 30 years of research and is one of the most effective couples therapy models, with over 70% of couples moving from distress to connection.

My Approach

I work with couples to uncover what’s driving their disconnection—not just what they’re fighting about. I help partners slow down, get curious, and begin to respond to each other with more emotional clarity and care.

Whether you're navigating conflict, healing from a betrayal, adjusting to a life change, or simply feeling disconnected, EFT offers a clear, research-backed path toward emotional safety and lasting closeness.

I'm currently working toward certification in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy through ICEEFT, and bring experience in trauma-informed care, parts work, and relational healing to this work.

What Working Together Looks Like

In our work, you can expect to:

  • Identify the negative cycle you get caught in—and what fuels it

  • Understand each other’s emotional needs and pain points

  • Practice new ways of reaching, responding, and reconnecting

  • Build a safer, more secure bond rooted in trust and emotional presence
